Hermanos VILLALOBOS Spring / Summer 2025:
Contemporary Folk / Jazz / Classical from Veracruz, Mexico
September 21, 2025
The internationally acclaimed Villalobos Brothers took the stage at the Lexington Opera House last September 21, 2025 bringing their signature fusion of Mexican folk, classical virtuosity, and genre-bending brilliance.
Alberto, Ernesto, and Luis Villalobos are a family band rooted in the traditions of Veracruz, Mexico, known for their breathtaking violin work, tight vocal harmonies, and electrifying performances.
Their artistry continues to reach new heights—most recently, they were featured on Bruce Springsteen’s newly released song “Adelita,” a mariachi-inspired tribute to the soldaderas, the courageous women who fought in the Mexican Revolution. The track appears on Tracks II: The Lost Albums, part of Springsteen’s long-awaited vault compilation, and was originally written during his time in California for an unreleased 1990s album titled Inyo.
Luis Villalobos has previously recorded violin for Springsteen’s “Stones” and “Somewhere North of Nashville,” further cementing the group’s presence in elite musical circles. Over the years, they’ve collaborated with an impressive range of artists including Dolly Parton, Lila Downs, The Chieftains, Eddie Palmieri, and Pierre Boulez.
