GreenRoom Popup – Gideon Alorwoyie
Join us for a special GreenRoom Popup Concert featuring Master Percussionist Gidion Alorwoyie from the Volta Region of Ghana. A priest, village chief, tenured college professor and renowned percussionist, Gideon is carrying ancient traditions to a new generation.
He’ll be joined by members of C The Beat (the very first C The Beat show was opening for Gideon’s group Afrikania at Natasha’s in 2013). Witness African rhythm meeting America Soul and Jazz!
Trifecta is Lexington’s coolest jazz bar, watch art glass being created (you know, big oven’s and all), enjoy creative cocktails and listen to jazz. See you there!!!

Yeison Landero: The Heir to Cumbia – Presented by GreenRoom Exchange
Mother’s Day Sunday May 10 at the Black Box Theater:
All the way from San Jacinto (Bolívar) in the heart of Los Montes de María located in the Caribbean region of Colombia, Yeison’s grandfather, Andrés Landero was one of the most famous accordionists, known as the “King of cumbia”. Today, having received all this legacy from his grandfather, Yeison is not only one of the greatest accordion players on the planet, but is also working to create his own traditional style.
